Sybarite is a global design practice leading the ever-evolving face of benchmark retail, experiential culture and hospitality. Founded in 2002 as a boutique studio dedicated to luxury retail, Sybarite has since grown into a global design agency with projects ranging in scale from masterplans and architecture to interiors and products. ABOUT THE ROLE
Overview
Sybarite is embarking on a period of transformative change around an expanding portfolio of architecture projects. This is a key role within the project team that will focus on space planning and design on large-scale luxury retail projects located in China and the middle east.
As a key team member, you will balance design, technical ability and efficiency to deliver cohesive architectural projects that are aesthetically innovative and technically feasible.

About You
- High-level understanding of project team roles and responsibilities, with strong project management, organisational, and timekeeping skills
- Advanced knowledge of fabrication, building techniques, manufacturing, and construction site processes
- Ability to motivate, mentor, and support junior staff, fostering positive team morale and studio culture
- Strong design vision with the ability to champion creative excellence, bring innovative ideas, and provide meaningful design insight
- Lead and manage production work on projects, ensuring execution to time, cost, and quality targets
- Assist in organising and distributing design tasks, establishing efficient workflows, and coordinating internal and external workshops/reviews
- Act as primary contact for project-related queries from clients and external parties, including taking briefs, negotiations, and client-facing responsibilities
- Provide technical and professional expertise to address client issues and support contract administration, resourcing, and financial planning
- Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and external consultants (e.g. Structural, MEP, QS, Facade, Lighting)
- Monitor and review design outputs for quality, compliance with standards, and alignment with senior management direction
- Compile and review deliverables for each design stage, ensuring clarity and accountability across the team
- Support senior leadership (Associate Director, Technical Director, Founders) by reporting on project progress, resource management, and design coordination
- Produce and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and project notes to ensure clear communication and follow-up
- Contribute to recruitment, development, and resourcing of project teams, considering commercial awareness and fee proposals
