Moët & Chandon

Translating the spirit of the grande maison into an unexpected hospitality experience within Harrods’ Beauty Hall.

In collaboration with LVMH and Harrods, Sybarite designed a permanent Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar positioned at the heart of Harrods’ iconic Beauty Hall. The project explored the power of disruption and celebration, introducing a hospitality destination within one of the department store’s busiest retail environments. By interrupting the conventional customer journey, the Champagne Bar created a moment of pause, connection and discovery, within the previously purely transactional retail space.

Design Vision & Process

The design sought to capture the essence of Moët & Chandon beyond the product itself. Rather than treating hospitality as a separate destination, we integrated it directly into the retail experience. Positioned at the centre of the Beauty Hall, the Champagne Bar became an unexpected intervention — encouraging visitors to slow down, gather and engage with the Moët & Chandon brand in a more meaningful way.

This deliberate juxtaposition of beauty and hospitality enriched the customer journey, creating a destination that felt both surprising and entirely natural within the wider Harrods environment.

The Chandelier

Suspended above the bar, a hand-sculpted chandelier forms the project’s defining architectural gesture. Composed of thousands of degradé golden metal discs, the installation shimmers overhead, extending 21 metres across the space into the beauty hall.

Designed to evoke the effervescence and movement of champagne, the chandelier creates a sense of theatre and occasion while seamlessly connecting the elegance of Harrods’ surrounding Beauty Hall to the hospitality destination beyond.

CONCLUSION

The Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar demonstrates how hospitality design can become a powerful expression of brand identity. Through a carefully choreographed combination of architecture, materiality and storytelling, Sybarite created a destination that captures the spirit of the Grande Maison while offering a contemporary setting for celebration.

Defined by elegance, theatre and a spirit of discovery, the project demonstrates how unexpected pairings can enrich the customer experience — transforming a moment of simple pleasure into a memorable destination within one of the world’s most iconic retail environments.
