The Co-Founders

In 2002, Torquil McIntosh and Simon Mitchell founded Sybarite as a studio where they could live and breathe their design principles of INNOVATION, COLLABORATION and RESPECT within the niche of retail.

Their belief is that a Sybarite’s essential purpose is transcendence through design.

Twenty years later, their studio of 105 + having mentored 30 nationalities to date is testament to their consistently evolving culture grounded in these principles and the innovative and inimitable signature derived from them.

A Sybarite project should always intuitively deliver lasting experiences with an intrinsic value that is both economic and emotional.

Sybarite’s creation process is without boundaries – embracing all the artforms, respecting the past and marshalling the future.

Innovate Collaborate Respect
Sybarite
has
always
pushed
for
the
radical
and
new:
stories,
spectacle
and
surprise
with
a
purpose."

Simon
and
Torquil
have
understood
that
retail
resonates
through
creating
dynamic
spaces
with
a
distinct
character
and
identity:
a
powerful
presence
with
unique
codes
and
a
specific
material
language.

This
approach
has
given
their
work
a
longevity,
an
enduring
freshness
rare
in
retail
architecture."

Retail
needs
to
work
so
much
harder
nowadays.
Customers
are
so
well-informed;
they
want
an
experience
-
a
good
reason
to
go
to
physical
stores.

Essentially,
retail
is
theatre,
and
these
stores
must
act
as
embassies
to
brands.
