Maison
Maison is a luxury concept boutique for coveted fashion forward brands, straight off the runway to their sophisticated Indian clientele. Maison was conceptualised as a lifestyle destination – the first of its kind in the area. The space is fluid, morphing from retail space to state-of-the-art pop-up cinema to emerging gallery.
Maison is a vision in white which weaves an ultra-modern interpretation of the geometric patterns of Indo-Islamic art and architecture. At the core of the design is a stylised hourglass form which is repeated throughout, building a texture and rhythm reminiscent of traditional Indian decorative arts. This is applied in its most pared back form embodying the very essence of iconic Mughal architecture suggestive of the Taj Mahal.
The modules, variably and internally lit and crafted in translucent natural fibreglass, can be configured in multiple ways to display a wide range of products: mirrored, with screens, with shelves or hooks, with doors or glazed as vitrines for jewellery. The hourglass motif is repeated in clusters of freestanding display units akin to filigree screening and anchored on large quartz floor tiles.
